....Thus far anyway. I certainly haven't slowed down as yet. This lot was done in April. May/June was really good and July has started out exceptionally well. But, I digress. A few years ago I had backed the War & Empire Ancients Kickstarter, I was figuring on putting together a successor army of some sort, settled on Ptolemy, but I had a few extra packs in my pledge after getting that army together. I had an old minifig Later Achaemenid Persian army that I had replaced with Xyston figures and I wasn't really sure what I was going to do with it. Then I decided to cannibalize it, turning some of it into a few DBA armies, but I figured I could make use of the Skythians and Bactrians and put together a Skythian army for Impetus. So that is what I did, took the Minifigs from the Persian army, then filled in the army with my remaining packs from War & Empire (plus a few more). I repainted all the Minifigs since they were in rough shape, they are over 30 years old, replaced a couple spears as well.
And here are the War & Empire figs
Not much to add on the Minifigs, they have been around a long time and most people know what to expect. The War & Empire figures are really nice, lots of variety and animation. Even some Greek style helmets on some of the armored cavalry. The only thing missing in the pics are a couple general stands that I finished a little later. Otherwise the army is complete.
I got in a few Clan War Shadowland figures.
These are always a fun interlude in the midst of grinding away at the bigger projects.
Then there were these two
I have no clue what either of these are, but, they should make some fun creatures to play with. The giant skeleton thing has hands that hold something. I'll just have to find a weapon large enough to fit them.
Then there is this random group of Boers. These guys are Blacktree Design, I think I have more somewhere. I'm sure they will turn up.
I'll wrap things up with some 20mm WW2
Along with the Germans I found a bag of commandos
These are FAA also. Fun to paint, and easy. Maybe that's why they were fun. I will apologize for the quality of some of the pictures. I was playing around with the phone a bit and experimenting. I have been contemplating getting a kit for my phone with some different lenses, just haven't pulled the trigger on that yet.
That's all I have for now. Next time will include some Ptolemaic troops, SYW French and Saxons, and some other odds and ends.
